General Description Embark on an unforgettable journey along Japan’s coastline with a guided day trip from Tokyo to Kamakura.

Our adventure begins with a scenic train ride from Tokyo to the historic city of Kamakura. Upon arrival, we will immerse ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Komachi-dori, the city's most famous shopping street. This charming pedestrian walkway blends tradition and modernity with its souvenir shops, Japanese sweets, and local handicrafts. At the end of the street, we will reach the majestic Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Kamakura’s most important Shinto shrine. Surrounded by lush gardens and serene ponds, this sacred site is a symbol of the city and a perfect place to gain insight into Japanese spirituality.

Next, we will board the picturesque Enoden monorail, an iconic means of transportation, and head to Kotoku-in Temple. This Buddhist temple is home to one of Japan’s most iconic figures: the Great Buddha of Kamakura, an awe-inspiring 13.5-meter (44-foot) bronze statue weighing 93 tons. The solemn atmosphere and spiritual energy of this site make it a must-visit for any traveler.

Just a short walk from Kotoku-in, we will visit Hase-Dera Temple, another cultural gem of Kamakura. This Buddhist temple is famous for its magnificent wooden statue of Kannon, the Goddess of Mercy, whose origins are wrapped in legend. Hase-Dera also features a mysterious cave with a hidden altar and a scenic viewpoint offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Shonan coastline. The tranquil surroundings of this temple provide a serene escape amidst a dreamlike landscape.

After exploring the cultural wonders of Kamakura, we will enjoy some free time for lunch at a local restaurant, where you can savor regional specialties such as fresh seafood and traditional Japanese dishes (lunch not included).
