Embark on an unforgettable journey along Japan’s coastline with a guided day trip from Tokyo to Kamakura and Enoshima—two captivating destinations where history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes come together.
Our adventure begins with a scenic train ride from Tokyo to the historic city of Kamakura. Upon arrival, we will immerse ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Komachi-dori, the city's most famous shopping street. This charming pedestrian walkway blends tradition and modernity with its souvenir shops, Japanese sweets, and local handicrafts. At the end of the street, we will reach the majestic Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Kamakura’s most important Shinto shrine. Surrounded by lush gardens and serene ponds, this sacred site is a symbol of the city and a perfect place to gain insight into Japanese spirituality.
Next, we will board the picturesque Enoden monorail, an iconic means of transportation, and head to Kotoku-in Temple. This Buddhist temple is home to one of Japan’s most iconic figures: the Great Buddha of Kamakura, an awe-inspiring 13.5-meter (44-foot) bronze statue weighing 93 tons. The solemn atmosphere and spiritual energy of this site make it a must-visit for any traveler.
Just a short walk from Kotoku-in, we will visit Hase-Dera Temple, another cultural gem of Kamakura. This Buddhist temple is famous for its magnificent wooden statue of Kannon, the Goddess of Mercy, whose origins are wrapped in legend. Hase-Dera also features a mysterious cave with a hidden altar and a scenic viewpoint offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Shonan coastline. The tranquil surroundings of this temple provide a serene escape amidst a dreamlike landscape.
After exploring the cultural wonders of Kamakura, we will enjoy some free time for lunch at a local restaurant, where you can savor regional specialties such as fresh seafood and traditional Japanese dishes (lunch not included).
With renewed energy, we will resume our journey by taking the Enoden monorail once again to Enoshima, a charming island filled with mystique. Walking across the bridge connecting the coast to the island, we will enjoy the refreshing sea breeze and panoramic ocean views. Upon arrival, we will explore Enoshima’s quaint streets lined with shops and restaurants, offering a variety of local delicacies.
Our final stop will be the Enoshima Shrine, a sacred complex dedicated to Benzaiten, the goddess of wisdom and the arts. Along the way, we will visit the three shrines that make up this spiritual site: Hetsumiya, Nakatsumiya, and Okutsumiya, each with its own unique history and atmosphere. From the Enoshima observation deck, and if the weather is clear, we will be treated to a spectacular view of Mount Fuji rising on the horizon.
To conclude our journey, we will head to Katase-Enoshima Station and board the train back to Tokyo, arriving at Shinjuku Station. This excursion will not only introduce you to two of Japan’s most stunning coastal destinations, but it will also provide an unforgettable experience filled with breathtaking scenery, historic temples, and the authentic essence of Japanese culture.

● Brief itinerary: Pickup at the hotel in Tokyo, walk and metro to Kamakura (50 min) - Hachimangu (1 hour) - Kotoku-in Temple (1 hour) - Hasedera (1 hour) Enoshima (2 hours) - Return to Tokyo from Kamakura/Enoshima (1 hour)
● Remember to bring cash. Be prepared for any weather conditions; bring an umbrella or raincoat if necessary
● Please respect local customs and traditions at religious sites

● If during the tour it is found that any of the monuments or points of interest included in the itinerary are closed (due to maintenance, unforeseen events, or any other circumstance), an alternative will be sought to ensure the best possible experience. If it is not possible to replace it, the company will offer a proportional refund or reschedule the tour
● In the event that an occurrence beyond the control of both parties (such as natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, flight cancellations, etc.) prevents the provision of the service, the tour will be rescheduled. If rescheduling is not possible, the client may request a full or partial refund, depending on the situation and at the sole discretion of the company
● In the event that a guide is unable to conduct the tour due to health reasons or any other unforeseen cause, the company commits to providing an alternative guide if possible. If a replacement guide cannot be provided, the tour will be rescheduled or the client may request a full refund
● If, due to force majeure or scheduling changes, a guide is not available to conduct the tour, the company will offer an alternative solution that may include rescheduling the tour or conducting it with a different guide. If satisfactory conditions cannot be guaranteed, the client will be entitled to a full or partial refund at the sole discretion of the company
● If during the tour the client displays inappropriate or disruptive behavior (that may affect the experience of the other participants or the safety of the group), the company reserves the right to cancel the tour immediately. In this case, no refund will be offered and the client will be responsible for any consequences arising from their behavior
