Full description
Carve your own ice sculpture deep in Lapland's taiga, with professional tools, a campfire lunch of Arctic stew and sausages, and hot drinks.
Carving a sculpture out of pure ice is something few places in the world let you try, and Lapland's snow-covered taiga is one of them. After pickup from your accommodation, you are driven out of the city into the wilderness. Depending on the weather and the day's location, the final leg is done either on a short snowshoe walk through the forest or riding in a sled pulled by a snowmobile.
On reaching a secluded spot, the guide shows you how to safely use professional hand-carving tools and hands out prepared ice blocks. The focus is on enjoying the creative process rather than crafting a masterpiece. While you carve, the guide builds a traditional campfire and prepares a warm Arctic stew.
There are plenty of breaks to warm your hands, try local snacks and enjoy traditional hot drinks. To complete the experience, everyone roasts their own sausages over the fire and enjoys a hearty lunch in the middle of the forest, surrounded by their ice creations. At the end, you return to Kiruna.
A creative, relaxed experience in small groups to discover Lapland's nature in a different way.
