The day will begin with pick-up at your hotel in Sorrento and a minibus transfer to Pompeii. Once there, you will enter the archaeological site accompanied by an archaeologist guide, who will explain the historical context of the Roman city that was buried after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. During the visit, you will explore emblematic areas such as the Forum, the Capitolium, the Macellum, and the Theatre, as well as observe other sculptures and archaeological remains that will help you understand the public and social life of ancient Pompeii.
After the visit to Pompeii, you will board the minibus again to continue to Mount Vesuvius. The transfer will take you to the access area located at approximately 1,000 meters above sea level. From that point, you will meet a mountain guide and hike up to the crater. Once at the top, you will have free time to walk along the rim and admire the scenery, enjoying open views over the Gulf of Naples and the volcanic landscape.
In the early afternoon, you will begin the return journey to Sorrento, arriving at your hotel or meeting point after a complete experience that will allow you to discover Pompeii’s past and Vesuvius’s natural dimension in a single day.
