You will visit Pompeii on a guided experience that will allow you to explore one of the best-preserved Roman cities in the world, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Throughout the itinerary, you will learn how the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD brought the city’s life to an end, and how layers of volcanic ash helped preserve its streets and buildings in an exceptional way.
The excursion will take place by semi-private, air-conditioned bus and will include an authorized local English-speaking guide. Once inside the archaeological site, you will walk along ancient streets and enter different spaces that reflect daily life at the time, such as houses, baths, and old premises where everyday activity took place, following a clear explanation that will recreate the atmosphere of the last days before the eruption.
During the visit, you will use headsets to listen comfortably to the guide in Pompeii, even as you move through the different areas of the site. Admission to the archaeological park will be included, allowing you to focus on the tour and on interpreting the main points of interest as well as the less obvious details hidden within the ruins.
If you choose the full-day option of approximately 7 hours, the experience will also include a light lunch with wine pairing, designed to accompany local products with a selection of wines. If you select the half-day option, either regular or private, you will still have the guided visit with admission included and headsets in Pompeii, without the gastronomic part.
