Full description
Access the Colosseum arena floor on a small-group tour that also covers the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, with dedicated attention from an expert guide.
This small-group tour of up to 12 people grants priority access to the iconic Colosseum arena floor, a recently reopened area, with dedicated attention from an expert guide and no crowds of regular ticket holders. The route covers the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill and the Colosseum with its arena, immersing you in Ancient Rome's most awe-inspiring sites.
With fast-track entry, you go straight to the Colosseum's ground floor, passing through the Gladiator's Gate onto the arena floor itself, the same route gladiators took almost 2,000 years ago. Your guide transports you back to the Colosseum's inaugural games, when more than 50,000 spectators filled the arena to watch gladiator fights, wild animal hunts and executions. Since the group is small, the guide can tailor the information to the questions that interest you most, with plenty of time to answer them all.
The tour continues to Palatine Hill, the birthplace of Ancient Rome and a genuine archaeological wonder, with ruins of opulent palaces and settlements ranging from the Iron Age to the 16th century, as well as stunning views over the city. The itinerary then descends to the Roman Forum, the ancient beating heart of the city, where you'll discover the laws, courts and speeches that shaped Western culture, walk the Via Sacra and stand beneath the triumphal arches of Titus and Septimius Severus.
