IMPORTANT NOTE
Please note that the guided tour of the Alcázar of the Christian Monarchs cannot be conducted in its usual format due to restoration works ongoing since last June.
Although a full reopening was initially expected in November, the monument has informed us that partial closure will continue. Therefore, during the tour it will only be possible to access and enjoy the areas currently open to the public: the Alcázar Gardens and the Alcázar Califal Baths, both part of the same monumental complex.
After meeting the guide at the Mosque, the tour will begin. The first part of the visit will take place in the Mosque's Patio de los Naranjos, where you'll discover the origins of this remarkable building.
Inside the temple, you'll explore the four different expansions carried out between the 8th and 10th centuries. One highlight is the Mihrab on the qibla wall, made of gold, mother-of-pearl, lapis lazuli, and precious stones—the crown jewel of this structure.
After visiting the Cathedral, it's time to start the second part of the tour at the Alcázar of the Christian Kings, a 14th-century palace built by Alfonso XI. Inside, you'll walk through its halls, which tell the stories of the kings who resided here, including the Catholic Monarchs.
The perfect way to end the tour is by exploring the famous gardens of the Alcázar, filled with fountains and flowers that epitomize Andalusian architecture.
