Meet our guide at the reception of your centrally located hotel or apartment and go with our driver and enjoy a 6 hours explanation with the must see attractions of the city. During the itinerary by car you will see the most important buildings, avenues and squares with our expert official guide who will explain main highlights of Paris from exterior. Our introduction to the City of Light will begin on the Rive Gauche, Paris’ Left Bank. This part of the city is known for its meandering cobblestone streets and historic buildings and as the stomping grounds of some of the 20th century’s most celebrated authors. Our route will take us through the famous districts of Saint-Germain-des-Prés with its notable cafés (where the likes of Ernest Hemingway and James Joyce penned their celebrated novels) and to the legendary Latin Quarter. We will then drive along France’s oldest university, the Sorbonne, and we can admire the magnificent Luxembourg Gardens and the imposing Pantheon. Making our way north, we will head onto the Ile-de-la-Cité to have a short stop at Notre-Dame de Paris to discuss the impacts of the recent fire and the future of the building. Close to the Cathedral, there are two authentic gems such as Saint Chappelle and the Conciergerie. You will be impressed by the architecture of these buildings and the fascinating history behind them. From here, we will arrive on the Rive Droite, or Right Bank and walk towards the Louvre. We will pass by the main courtyard and the renowned Pyramid, while the guide explain the the grandeur of this royal palace turned art museum in 1793 we will drive along the magnificent Tuileries Gardens and the annex Place de la Concorde with its famous Champs-Élysées. Next, we might see the Palais-Royal before we make our way up a grand boulevard toward the majestic Opéra Garnier and the nearby magnificent Place Vendôme. It is time now to go to the fascinating hill of Montmartre. This is the place where the most famous artists spent their time during their time in Paris. After a breathtaking view of south Paris, your guide will lead you to the lively Place du Tertre where hundreds of artists gather on a daily basis to paint and draw tourists and visitors. You will then walk along the cobblestone streets where you will enjoy the quaint quartier of which many artists used to walk. You can have here a short break for lunch. Lunch is not included, but the guide will be able to make recommendations to best fit your appetite. The last stop in the hill is to the beautiful Basilica of Sacred Heart standing at the summit of the hill of Montmartre, the highest point in the city. Descending from Montamartre, we will drive to the Arc de Triomphe to admire this important historical axis (which links the East of the city to the West) and discuss its symbolism with our local expert. As a final flourish, we will drive along the Trocadero and will stop at the basement of the most emblematic monuments of the city - the Eiffel Tower. A great symbol of France, the Eiffel Tower pays tribute to many renowned scientists, engineers and notable figures engraved at the base of the Tower.
At the end of our immersive full-day itinerary, we will have travelled across centuries to know more about the Paris' historic, cultural, and artistic identity, emerging with a deeper understanding of this charming metropolis. The tour ends anywhere you want. You can ask to stay in the city centre so you can keep some walk by your own in the typical streets of the city centre, or you can ask to back to the hotel to have few relax before joining the rest of the day program.
