Discover Jesuit history and precious stones on a cultural journey through Misiones
Embark on a fascinating journey through history, nature, and missionary culture traveling from the city of Iguazu. Along national route twelve, the landscape unfolds between jungles, plantations, and small towns that reflect the essence of the Misiones interior.
The first stop is at Colonia Wanda, home to the famous open-air precious stone mine on the banks of the majestic Parana River. Visitors will be able to observe samples of agates, quartz, rock crystals, amethysts, and topazes, discovering how nature keeps true treasures in the depths.
The trip continues to the imposing Jesuit Ruins of San Ignacio built in the seventeenth century. During the guided tour, the construction, life, and customs of the Guarani aborigines will be explained, as well as the catechization process carried out by the religious order in this region.

● Regular departures from Foz require a minimum of two passengers

● This is a full day activity and cannot be combined with arrival or departure transfer services
● Not recommended for elderly people or small children due to its length and duration
● The visit to the Wanda Mine presents high difficulty due to stairs and is not recommended for people with back or heart problems or pregnant women
● The San Ignacio Ruins involve medium difficulty with the presence of uneven terrain and stairs during the tour
● We recommend bringing sunscreen, insect repellent, light clothing, and comfortable shoes
● Activity not suitable for wheelchair users
