Setúbal and Winery Experience: Discover Portuguese Culture and Gastronomy from Lisbon in Semiprivate

The day begins in the center of Lisbon as we cross the Tagus River over the iconic 25 de Abril Bridge, enjoying spectacular views that set the stage for a premium small-group experience. Our first stop is the Bacalhôa Palace, a majestic estate that embodies the grandeur of Portuguese wine culture. Here, a local guide will welcome us to reveal the history of the Bacalhôa family and their profound influence on the region's winemaking traditions. In addition to its winemaking legacy, the palace houses an impressive art collection that blends with the surroundings, offering a unique cultural perspective where creativity and wine go hand in hand.

We will tour the Quinta da Bacalhôa vineyards to learn firsthand about the grape varieties and production processes that make these wines exceptional. The journey through time continues as we visit a 15th-century building within the estate, followed by a stroll through the pristine Buxo Gardens and the enchanting Casa do Lago. This immersion culminates in a guided tasting of three select wines: a white, a red, and the area's emblematic muscatel.

Later, we will travel to Setúbal, the heart of the Portuguese fishing industry. We will visit the Mercado do Livramento, considered one of the best in the world, where we will enjoy a tasting of local delicacies paired with wine, including products such as cheese, olives, and the famous fried cuttlefish. After exploring the historic center and the Jesus Convent, we will end the adventure at the São Filipe Castle. From this National Monument, we will admire the Joanina Chapel and the breathtaking views of the Setúbal Bay before returning to the capital with an enriched palate and soul.
