Learn to photograph the Northern Lights with your phone while chasing them across Lapland, with a tripod, a traditional fire-lighting challenge, a local tasting board and professional photos.
This tour combines a Northern Lights chase with a night photography workshop for smartphones. After pickup from your accommodation, the drive from Kiruna is used to cover composition and the technical challenges of night photography, and to adjust your phone's settings, even if it has no "Pro" mode.
Travelling in an 8-passenger van, the guide heads to the areas with the best weather conditions. On arrival, each guest receives a professional tripod for sharp photos, and the guide stays by your side to help with focus and framing.
Out in the wilderness, the experience becomes hands-on: under the instructor's guidance, you will learn to light a fire with flint and traditional materials, without matches. As the fire grows, a board is served containing a selection of reindeer or moose meat, local berry jam and local cheese, along with hot drinks such as the traditional lingonberry drink.
While you focus on your own shots, the guide takes high-resolution portraits of the group under the night sky with a professional camera. Even if the aurora does not appear, you leave with new skills, a good meal and a professional photo gallery. With groups of up to 8 people, the attention is personalised.
