Excursión a Amalfi y Positano desde Roma

Discover one of Italy's most breathtaking destinations on this full-day excursion from Rome to the Amalfi Coast. Located in the southern region of Campania, this spectacular stretch of coastline is renowned for its crystal-clear waters, dramatic cliffs, colourful villages, outstanding gastronomy and unforgettable scenery. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Amalfi Coast is considered one of the finest examples of Italy's natural beauty.

Just south of Naples, this enchanting coastline has been closely linked to the sea, lush landscapes and centuries of history. Amalfi was once one of the four great Maritime Republics of Italy, alongside Genoa, Pisa and Venice. During the Middle Ages, these powerful city-states dominated Mediterranean trade, becoming an important bridge between Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, not only through commerce but also through cultural and artistic exchange.

During the 1960s, at the height of the international jet-set era, the Amalfi Coast became a favourite retreat for celebrities and public figures such as Jacqueline Kennedy, Sophia Loren, Greta Garbo and Rudolf Nureyev. Together with Amalfi and Positano, destinations such as Ravello, Procida and Sorrento have contributed to making this one of Italy's most fascinating regions.

This excursion allows you to discover two of the Amalfi Coast's most iconic towns: Amalfi and Positano. You will join a group of no more than 15 participants and meet your tour leader at Rome Termini Station before boarding the included high-speed train to Salerno. The tour leader will accompany the group throughout the entire experience, from departure in Rome until the return journey in the evening.

Upon arrival in Salerno, you will board a ferry to Amalfi, one of the best ways to admire the spectacular coastline, with its towering cliffs, colourful houses and the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea.

Amalfi will be your first stop. Nestled beneath dramatic cliffs, this historic town was once the capital of the ancient Duchy of Amalfi during the Middle Ages. You will have free time to stroll through its charming streets, browse its local shops, relax in its picturesque squares and admire Amalfi Cathedral at your own pace.

You will then continue by ferry to Positano, one of Italy's most photographed villages. Its colourful houses cascading down the hillside, exclusive boutiques and beautiful beaches make it one of the highlights of the Amalfi Coast. Enjoy free time to walk along Marina Grande, discover the beaches of Fornillo or Arienzo, or simply soak up the unique Mediterranean atmosphere.

After approximately two and a half hours in Positano, you will return by ferry to Salerno before boarding the high-speed train back to Rome, where arrival is scheduled for approximately 8:30 pm.
