Embark on the Blue Safari adventure sailing across Rico Lake from the Bajo de las Sombras port right up to the imposing wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier
Get up close to the vastness of Patagonian ice with the Blue Safari in Los Glaciares National Park, an experience designed for those wishing to sail in front of the Perito Moreno Glacier and admire its icy wall from just steps away. The excursion begins directly at Puerto Bajo de las Sombras, where you will board a boat to cross Rico Lake and disembark on the opposite shore accompanied by an experienced bilingual guide.
From the shore, you will set out on an interpretive walk over natural terrain of sand and stones with some slopes and stairs, skirting the lakeshore and entering a lush forest with constant views of the glacier's southern wall so as not to miss any thunderous ice calvings. Once beside the ice, you will have time to admire its intense blue and white hues and whimsical shapes up close and take photographs before returning to the boarding area and sailing back to port while viewing every detail of the glacial wall from just meters away.
Please note that this excursion does not include walking on the glacier ice, has strict age and medical restrictions, and requires submitting passport or identity document details for all passengers in advance to confirm the booking. The service also does not include transfers from El Calafate, a guided visit to the walkways, food, or admission to Los Glaciares National Park (approximately 50,000 ARS to be paid at the destination).

● To confirm the booking and guarantee spots, it is mandatory to submit in advance for all passengers their full name, passport or national identity document number, nationality, date of birth, and a photograph of the identity document or passport for minors
● Admission to Los Glaciares National Park is not included (approximately 50,000 ARS to be paid at the destination) and must be paid upon entering the park solely in Argentine pesos, in cash or by Visa card (Mastercard cards are not accepted)
● Please note that this excursion takes participants right next to the glacier but does not include walking on the ice of the Perito Moreno Glacier; the 1.5-kilometer walk takes place over natural terrain of sand and stones with some slopes and stairs
● Please note that food and drinks are not included and there are no places to purchase them during the excursion, so each passenger must bring their own food from El Calafate
● Activity suitable exclusively for people aged 6 to 70 inclusive, without exception; minors under 18 participating without their parents must present written authorization from them specifying all details of the supervising adult in charge
● Due to medical restrictions, pregnant women and individuals with obesity and a sedentary lifestyle, respiratory diseases (such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, or emphysema), central or peripheral cardiovascular conditions, reduced cardiac or vascular capacity, stents, bypasses, pacemakers, or other prostheses, physical or mental disabilities affecting attention, gait, or coordination, recent fractures, severe spinal or knee problems, or recent surgeries may not participate. If at the start of the excursion a participant exhibits any of these excluding conditions or difficulties walking independently, they will not be allowed to take part in the activity and no refund will be issued
● Please dress according to the weather conditions. Comfortable clothing and footwear are recommended, specifically a thermal shirt and leggings, warm sweater and jacket, windproof and waterproof jacket, trekking pants, waterproof hiking or athletic shoes, thermal socks or two pairs of socks, gloves, warm hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen
● The itinerary may be subject to changes due to weather conditions, traffic, city events, road closures, or high visitor volume
● The service ends with the return to the same initial meeting point at Puerto Bajo de las Sombras
