Located approximately 216 km from El Calafate, north of Lake Viedma and at the foot of the imposing Mount Fitz Roy, the village of El Chaltén is a must-see destination for nature and trekking lovers in Argentine Patagonia. This excursion offers different alternatives depending on the visitor's interest and physical ability:
Free Trekking Option – Capri Lagoon (self-guided): ideal for those who prefer to explore the trails independently, without a group or guide. Upon arrival in El Chaltén, you will have the freedom to choose from several self-guided routes of varying difficulty levels, such as the trail to Capri Lagoon, one of the most popular for its incredible views of Fitz Roy. You can also choose to explore the village and its surroundings at your own pace. This option includes a packed lunch.
Mirador de los Cóndores and Chorrillo del Salto Option (with guide): recommended for those seeking a more relaxed and guided experience. Two short trails are ideal for all ages. Mirador de los Cóndores offers exceptional panoramic views of Cerro Torre, Mount Fitz Roy, the Río de las Vueltas valley, and, with luck, a flight over Andean condors. Then, visit Chorrillo del Salto, a beautiful waterfall just a few minutes' walk away. This option includes lunch in a restaurant and a guided tour guide.

Upon arrival in El Chaltén, we'll have the opportunity to take a hike along self-guided trails of varying intensity. Or, simply enjoy this small town and its surroundings. ● Mirador de los Cóndores and Chorrillo del Salto Option: These short trails offer panoramic views of Cerro Torre and Mount Fitz Roy. This viewpoint also provides a beautiful view of the town and the Rio de las Vueltas valley, and, if we're lucky, we'll be able to see the condors soaring overhead.
